men and the staring

Ok so here I go man bashing again. But I mean really, they make it so damn easy. My sister and I were on the subway Saturday and a thirty something, poorly dressed male sitting two seats down was blatantly staring at my sister. With such rude disregard for how it made her feel that my sister actually held her purse right in front of her while muttering words that contained fuck you loser. Even this obvious display of disgust did not immediately stop this male from his quest of staring at a pretty woman because he wanted to. Do men lack the apparent gene that somehow between the brain and the penis tells a man that just because a woman is attractive that does not mean she is attractive for his viewing pleasure only? What is it with seemingly normal men who when within 10 feet of a female that decide in their infinite wisdom is worthy suddenly lose all clearly defined social graces?

After the staring abated to a side long glance he then started to eavesdrop on our conversation and then had the nerve to ask if we had a business card because he was a photographer. Gee, I have not heard that one since I was a teenager. We curtly said NO and he got up, coffee stained shirt and unkept hair intact, and exited the subway, no doubt scanning the area for another female to harass.

Shame on him.
