Brian Mulroney singlehandedly destroyed the 120 year old conservative party with his arrogance, dishonesty and quest for power and money, yet he was given an award last night for "greenest prime minister" At first I thought I was hearing things and swore they said "greatest Prime Minister" and I was ready to call someone to engage in an obvious debate.

For all he got done on the environmental file, his Green Plan for a Healthy Environment was never fully implemented. The Free Trade Agreement brought many unintended consequences for the environment. Mulroney’s style of executive federalism, devolution of power to the provinces picked up steam which can be a downfall when it comes to enforcing national environment standards.

Then there are the "The Secret Mulroney Tapes" and the "Airbus affair"

While I will agree Mr. Mulroney launched initiatives on acid rain, climate change and the ozone layer, I think if his being the "greenest" PM on record from a different standpoint, the almighty dollar.
