Its not a tomboy phase

I went out on the weekend to a bar in my hood, a sort of meat market kind of bar. I am at this odd stage in my life, middle aged funky, I no longer feel the need to impress with fancy girly outfits and uncomfortable shoes. I would like to think this makes me appear natural and easy to approach. My friend seems quite upset with the fact I wear tee shirts when we go out. Upset enough to harp on it all night. Upset enough to be insulting about it. If I cannot be me, with someone I have known for over twenty years, then why do I bother with this person? She has nothing nice to say about anyone or anything, clearly a negative life force, who lives for acceptance and having a man in her life. I totally am cool with that, to each their own. SO why I am a labelled a Lesbian because I like fun tees, understated shoes and carry a messenger bag instead of a little clutch? She actually asked me if I were "changing teams" I wish I was a lesbian, I totally dig girls more than guys. Such narrow minded stereotypes are the reason our world is in such turmoil.
